From the Greek word “praxis” meaning “to do” and “to act purposefully,” Praxis

Independent is built on the foundation that every movement, every toss, and every step on the floor should carry intention and meaning.

The mission of Praxis Independent Winter Guard is to empower young adult performers to transform discipline into artistry and training into purposeful action. Through individual integrity, collaborative creation, and a safe, supportive environment, Praxis aims to develop confident artists who embody excellence both on and off the performance floor.

The organization’s purpose includes:

• Providing instruction, inspiration and performance opportunities for its members in the winter guard and performing arts settings, fostering artistic growth and skill development.
• Promoting teamwork, discipline, and integrity among performers, encouraging personal growth and collaborative excellence.
• Offering a safe and supportive environment where young adults can explore and express their creativity.
• Support competitive performances that advance the performing arts.
